Este artículo evalúa dichas posibilidades y expone las diferentes tradiciones políticas de la ciudadanía y su tendencia ontológica a la exclusión, así como las formas en que se retoman estos derechos para ampliarla. Resalta la propuesta de postciudadanía, cuyo objetivo es trascender las tendencias de la ciudadanía a la exclusión y enfocarse en el carácter universal y humanista de los derechos, y propone una reformulación del concepto hegemónico de derechos humanos para extenderlos a los migrantes documentados e indocumentados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[There are two possible ways to recognize migrants' rights: the expansion of citizenship and the recognition and enforcement of human rights. This paper evaluates these possibilities and outlines the different political traditions of citizenship and its ontological tendencies towards exclusion, as well as the ways these rights are taken up to expand citizenship. It highlights the proposal of post-citizenship, which seeks to transcend citizenship's proclivity to exclusion and focus on the universal, humanistic nature of rights, and proposes a reformulation of the hegemonic concept of human rights in order to extend them to documented and undocumented migrants.]]></p></abstract>
