Sin embargo, la organización actual del sistema educativo se caracteriza por un enfoque reduccionista, en el que prima la utilización exclusiva de los conceptos propios de cada materia. La adquisición de esta visión sistémica es particularmente importante para los futuros profesores de Educación Primaria y Secundaria, ya que es en estas etapas en las que comienzan a dividirse las materias en disciplinas alejándose de una visión global de la ciencia. Con el fin de promover una perspectiva sistémica de la ciencia, en este trabajo desarrollamos una propuesta didáctica interdisciplinar a partir de los fundamentos científicos relacionados con la extracción de ADN con material cotidiano. Esta actividad, dirigida a futuros docentes, permite poner en práctica conceptos básicos de Química, Física y Biología, mostrando la naturaleza interdisciplinar de la ciencia, al mismo tiempo que ayuda a introducir, y fomentar la discusión, de los aspectos sociales y éticos relacionados con sus aplicaciones biotecnológicas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract As it is commonly accepted, a systemic view is required to solve the major problems of mankind. However, the current organization of the educational system provides a reductionist approach to specific concepts of each field. Good command of systemic view is particularly relevant for prospective teachers of Primary and Secondary Schools, since they should be able to transmit a global perspective of science in stages of education in which courses are stated to be divided in disciplines. In this contribution, we present an interdisciplinary didactic proposal based on the scientific fundamentals behind DNA extraction using household materials. This activity, addressed to prospective teachers, provides a systemic perspective of science by implementing basic concepts of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology while facilitating to introduce and encourage discussion of social and ethical aspects of biotechnology.]]></p></abstract>
